Council approves ambulance donation
At its regular meeting on Thursday, the Sierra Vista City Council approved the donation of a surplus ambulance to Sierra Vista’s Sister City Cananea in Sonora, Mexico.
The 2009 Ford E450 Ambulance DSL has reached the end of its useful life and, while drivable, has mechanical problems and conditions that make it unusable by the City. A new ambulance has already replaced this older one, which was added to the City’s surplus.
Cananea’s staff will pick up the vehicle at no additional cost to the City. If for some reason they cannot make the logistical arrangements, the donation will be cancelled and the vehicle will be placed for auction in line with the City’s surplus policies.
In other business, Mayor Clea McCaa proclaimed the week of Sept. 14 through 20, 2025, as Minority Enterprise Development Week.
