Consultation has concluded
The City is proposing a code change to establish that a refuse customer's delinquent fees may be sent to a third party for collection, and that any fees associated with that collection will be assessed to the delinquent customer. Currently the fees associated with the collection are paid for by the City. This change would enable the City to assess those fees to the delinquent customer.
The City Council moved this resolution forward for public comment at its regular meeting on Feb. 9. Please submit your comments by Monday, March 13, at 8 a.m.

I think it is a great idea to pass the fees onto the customer who is delinquent. The City should not have to shoulder the additional fees in addition to not being paid in the first place.
