Consultation has concluded

A proposed text amendment currently open for comments would revise the City's public hearing process for requested map amendments, text amendments, and conditional use permits. The proposed process would only require one public hearing before the Planning and Zoning Commission unless a public hearing is requested before the City Council. The issue would still go to the City Council for consideration as a resolution, but it would not require a public hearing before the council unless requested. Only requiring one public hearing would expedite the review process. Review the proposal and provide input using the comment form below.

I don't like the fact that a whole lot of protections are being wiped out for the sake of expediting zone changes. I think more than one public hearing should remain a requirement. This change cedes too much authority to the city council.
